Women struggling to lose weight is a significant part of my history. I come from sturdy German women and watched my mom, aunts, and grandmothers continuously diet for as long as I can remember.
I was a normal weight until age 27. That year, I got divorced, became a single mom, and left the religion I grew up in resulting in the loss of my entire social community.
With so many things out of control, food served a dual role. It was the one thing I could control and it was great for stress, anxiety, sadness, loneliness, anger, guilt, shame and a few more I couldn’t even identify.
Fast forward 21 years, I was still carrying all that unfelt emotion and 150 lbs of extra weight. I was tired of my own rhetoric. I went searching for solutions. I was determined NOT to be stuck with 20+ years of mediocre.
I was done wishing. I learned to let go of judgment and embrace curiosity. Discovering that my thoughts were NOT facts and that I had the ability to CHOOSE my thoughts on purpose felt so powerful. That day, I was ALL IN. I signed up the following day to train to become a Certified Coach. Now, I get to spend my days meeting women like you and see the sparkle come back into their eyes as they realize all the answers they ever needed are waiting for them in their beautiful body. The one they have today. The one in the mirror. The one underneath all of those pesky pounds.
The important work I put out into the world is teaching women to love the body they have today as a mechanism for weight loss. You do not take care of something you don’t love.

The Good News is losing weight is not nearly as hard as you’ve been told.
You need better tools and bigger dreams.
That is the inspiration behind my new 4-week group program launching January 3rd. This small group of 5 women, including you, will share the experience of chiseling yourself out from under the heaviness of your past so that you can give your body permission to let go of the heaviness of extra pounds. Self-sabotage is not a character flaw, it is human. Give yourself grace, for starters. Knowing that does not make being triggered any less frustrating. Triggers are so potent because they are tied to memories – old stories – that renew negative emotions. In week ONE, you will identify, unravel and debunk your triggers. You will carry that data into the remaining weeks as you learn to feel any and all emotions and to challenge the things you believe are unchangeable.
Your body is not broken. You have not waited too long to lose weight. There are real concrete reasons you do illogical things with food. Your brain loves patterns and efficiency. BUT, you are not stuck with your current patterns. In week TWO, you will identify your historic patterns and strategies to interrupt them. Building new incompatible habits point your brain in the direction you have always meant to go.
Think about the top 5 stories you tell about your life. Do they make you smile or cry? Are they proof you are thriving or failing? Your brain is always always listening. It believes the things it hears. In week THREE, you learn the skill of cleaning your mind the way you clean your house or car. AHA moments appear as you begin to understand WHY you keep going in big frustrating circles.
Thoughts are NOT facts. The magic sauce of weight loss is the ability to have thoughts without acting on them. Imagine your brain begging for your favorite go-to food (mine was Nacho Doritos) and knowing HOW to allow that awkward, twitchy feeling without eating. It is not a pipe dream but it does require practice. The good news is practice is what builds habits. In week FOUR, you will begin to see all the facets of weight loss. It was never just about the food. You will finish this week with a solid step by step plan for reaching your healthy weight.
In week FIVE, you will use the tools you’ve been practicing to nurture the relationship you are building with yourself. Clarity comes from knowing what you think, why you think it and how to choose yourself (i.e. become the most important person to yourself – worthy of your own undivided attention) If you are ready to commit to moving these intellectual ideas from your head to your heart, opportunities to invest in yourself via longer-term private 1:1 coaching will be available.
