Hello, Beauties! How to make more time for you when there’s no time. Time is that final wall you run up against when you’ve finally convinced yourself to try and lose weight again. Your internal conversation probably sounds something like “Ok, I’m finally ready and now there is no time. CRAP! Why am I always last?”
How to make more time for you when there’s no time
Stop for a minute and check in with what you feel in your body when you read that sentence:
“Ok, I’m finally ready and now there is no time. CRAP! Why am I always last?”
I feel kinda like a stone dropping to the bottom of my stomach. Steam coming out my ears. Eyore’s voice saying “Oh bother” in my ear. I hope that one made you giggle just a little but it’s those emotions of hopelessness, resignation, and dismissal that have you opening the next bag of Doritos or Oreos.
So HOW do you make more time for YOU when there’s no open space in your day? Answering that question got me thinking about the way my mom used to pack the car for a long trip. We took lots of cross-country car trips and all the suitcases and “stuff” for 5 people had to fit into the trunk of the car.
I can’t ever remember tying anything to the top of the car. Once we pulled a small U-Haul trailer. But I do remember watching my dad load the trunk, get all flustered and proclaim that something was not going with us because there is no more room.
Enter My Mom . . .
She would send him back inside the house, unload the trunk and then play her version of Tetris to make everything fit. Same amount of space, same stack of suitcases. He thought there was no room, she always somehow made it all fit by more efficiently using the space.
Turns out that was a valuable skill to learn. I use it myself every time we go on a car trip. Women, in general, are masters of managing space and time.
SO, I’m inviting you to look at your schedule.
Where could you “make space” for ten minutes worth of caring / connecting with yourself?
Finding that space and giving yourself permission to give to YOU requires you to let go of the belief that someone else needs it more. Skipping your turn is not ok. It’s costing you joy and extra pounds on your beautiful body.
I teach my private clients to start with 10-minute spaces. How could you connect with yourself (aka be the center of your own attention) in the time allotted? It takes some practice and willingness to make imperfect decisions but the payoff is those extra pounds exiting your body.
You thought your job was losing weight. Actually, your job is continually making imperfect decisions that move you closer to taking amazing care of your beautiful body – the one you see in the mirror today.
and put “Time Tetris!” in the Subject line.
That will connect us and save your spot for your free 30-minute session with me. I’ll show you how learning to genuinely love yourself is the glue to losing weight without deprivation.
I love you my Voluptuous Beauties
